Castel Malawi reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and the fight against corruption as the Company joined the global commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) on 9 December.
The Company’s theme for this year, “Reinforcement of the Revised Code of Conduct,” aligned with Malawi’s national theme, “Promoting human dignity in the fight against corruption.” This alignment reflected the Company’s emphasis on respect for human rights and dignity across all business operations, activities, transactions, and stakeholder relationships.
As a proud and deeply invested corporate citizen, Castel Malawi recognized that corruption continued to drain national development, undermine social fabric, and limit the country’s economic potential.
Led by our legal team, Chipiliro Kauka and Mvanani Kamvazina, the Company underscored that its dedication to a corruption-free business environment is not merely a compliance requirement but a core value embedded in its business model. The legal team also held an engagement with staff on the company’s Code of Conduct.
The Code of Conduct, which was revised earlier, represents more than a guiding document; it serves as an all-encompassing framework that articulates Castel’s core values and outlines the minimum standards expected from all business partners and stakeholders.
The event was held in all regions that Castel Malawi operates.
In Blantyre, the event was graced by His Lordship Justice Jack Nriva of the High Court of the Republic of Malawi as well as some of our stakeholders including distributors.
During the event, Justice Nriva gave a speech where he emphasized on the importance of a corrupt-free private sector.
As we commemorated International Anti-Corruption Day, Castel Malawi urged all stakeholders to remain united in safeguarding the dignity and future of our nation.
