Castel Malawi Limited in partnership with the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services, Malawi Police (Road Traffic and Community Policing) launched and conducted a Road Safety campaign through the road shows across the country reaching out to 20 trading centres, communities. The main targets were motor cyclists, pedal cyclists, pedestrians and other road users to facilitate the implementation and enhancement of the road safety system in the country. CML is involved and committed in the road safety as we own a fleet of trucks who uses the road every day. The Ministry of Transport and Public Works launched the National Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) 2022-2030 on 8^th December 2023 on the commemoration of Africa Road Safety Day which is in line with our core values as a company of which CML was a key stakeholder on this launch. This NRSS is a multi-stakeholder framework which has been developed to guide stakeholders and the nation to improve road safety in a sustainable and coordinated manner through the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services (DRTSS) as a custodian of the strategy and lead institution in its implementation process will provide an enabling environment in order to achieve the intended results under the following key result areas: Road safety management, Safer Roads and mobility, Safer Road Users, safe Vehicles, Post-Crash Response.
