🍺 Castel Beer: Unveiling the hidden facts
  1. A blend of heritage and innovation

Castel Beer’s roots in Malawi goes back to the acquisition of Carlsberg Malawi by Groupe Castel in 2016. This transition not only marked a change in ownership but also introduced a fusion of Malawian brewing traditions with French innovation, which introduced the Castel Beer.

2. Locally Brewed, Globally Inspired

While Castel Beer maintains a global standard, it is proudly brewed in Malawi with the following ingredients:

  • Water, Malted Barley, Non-Malted Cereal, Sugar and Hops.

3. Launched to be the taste of success

When Castel Beer was officially launched in 2019, it wasn’t just about introducing a new beverage to Malawi—it was about setting a new standard. Branded as “The Taste of Success,” the launch event was a grand celebration featuring Kenyan music sensation Sauti Sol and Malawian legends Giddes Chalamanda, Edgar, and Davis.

From Beverage to Benefactor: Supporting Malawian Football

Building on its success, Castel Beer extended its commitment to excellence beyond the beverage industry. In 2023, Castel Malawi launched the Castel Challenge Cup, a three-year football sponsorship worth over K1 billion—the largest in Malawi’s football history.

4. Rebranding for the Modern Consumer

In June 2024, Castel Beer underwent a significant rebranding. The new 330ml returnable bottle features a sleek design with updated labels, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation while maintaining the beer’s exceptional quality and taste.
