Castel Malawi management was pleased to welcome Melania Arreaga, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Malawi, and Gregory Meir, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, to our company headquarters in Blantyre.

The delegation was cordially received by Thomas Reynaud our Managing Director, together with Marina Kablan Codo, the Chief Financial Officer, and Gloria Zimba, the Director of Corporate Affairs, for a constructive business discussion on advancing Malawi’s manufacturing sector.

The engagement centered on three strategic priorities for enabling and strengthening Malawi’s manufacturing sector:

1. Optimising local manufacturing processes while addressing regulatory bottlenecks that constrain efficiency and stifle growth.
2. Creating an enabling business environment that attracts sustainable, long-term foreign direct investment, while supporting local expansion.
3. Leveraging chambers of commerce to streamline export procedures, strengthen market access and unlock global opportunities for Malawian products.

A memorable highlight was Chargé d’Affaires Arreaga’s appreciation for Malawian craftsmanship. She described her ecstatic experience with Malawi Gin, as being the smoothest gin in the world and shared that it is an essential item in her travel bag.
